Berlin – A new RTL/ntv poll on December 2, 2025, shows big trouble for Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

The CDU/CSU party of Merz gets only 25 percent support. The AfD party now leads with 26 percent.

Many Germans do not like Merz. His popularity is as low as that of former Chancellor Olaf Scholz at his worst.

A post on X calls Merz a “complete catastrophe.” It says he governs too far to the left. The author warns Merz will be remembered badly in history if he does not change fast.

At the same time, rich Germans are leaving the country. In 2024, around 200 millionaires moved away – four times more than before. They leave because of high taxes and too many rules.

Conservative voters are angry. Many now support the AfD instead of Merz’s CDU.
