The BWA (Betriebswirtschaftliche Auswertung) is a monthly or quarterly business report that provides an overview of a company’s financial performance. It shows whether the business is generating profits or incurring losses, based on data from its financial accounting.
How can you create a BWA?
A BWA is typically prepared by a tax advisor, but it can also be created by anyone responsible for managing the company’s finances, such as a bookkeeper or the business owner.
Most BWAs today are generated using accounting software. For example, tax advisors often use DATEV to send BWA reports to their clients.
However, for the BWA to provide meaningful insights, all business transactions must be accurately recorded and all receipts properly documented. Once the bookkeeping is complete, the software can generate the BWA with just a few clicks.
